Congratulations to 12 year old Rhiarn Fyfield on passing her first Dan grading. Rhiarn is currently our youngest Dan Grade. Well Done.

Sensei Eddie Malinowski came to Penlan Leisure to hold the course, a very large turnout, the course proved once again to be a huge success.
Weston Super Mare
Students from Shukan Ryu Karate travelled to Western-Super-Mare at the weekend to compete in the Western Karate Union competition.
The journey proved worthwhile for the students with a good medal count. In the Kata events Emily Demock won a gold with club mates Chad Collins, Alan Bowen, Aimee Williams, Erika Bytheway, Ellamay O`Driscoll and Jordan Simlett all winning bronze medals.
In the kumite events Ellamay O`Driscoll and Ashlee Farrell both won gold with Rhiarn Fyfield and Madalina Micusan taking silver and Aimee Williams along with Erika Bytheway winning bronze medals.

Congratulations to Roxanne Phillips and James Ripley on passing their Dan Grading. Both students have been training for around 7 years on a regular basis. They have entered competitions all over the UK. They are a credit to Shukan Ryu Karate and we are all proud of them both.

I am also proud to announce that Shukan Ryu has its first 2nd Dan Black Belts.
Sensei Jeremy Oliver and Sensei Rachel Thomas both passed their grading to 2nd Dan, this is a milestone for the club and a huge acheivment. Well Done both of you.
