Shukan Ryu Karate started life as Penlan Karate Club in the summer of 1995 based at the then new Penlan Leisure Centre. Some years later classes were taught in the Gowerton and Waunarlwydd areas, where since 2001 the class now running at Waunarlwydd Community Centre was established. In the summer of 2004 Shukan Ryu started teaching at Llanelli Leisure Centre and with growing interest in our classes a further new club began in November 2008 at Llangennech Community Hall, this class being run by Shukan Ryu Dan Grade Alan Bowen.
Classes are for students of all ages, the main stream starting age is 6 years to 60 yrs. There are specialist classes for Pee Wee students aged 4 and 5 years.
